The Roofing System That Lasts 50+ Years — And Can Be Renewed Indefinitely

The Complete Guide to Spray Foam Roofing

Spray Polyurethane Foam (SPF) roofing is a seamless, no-tear-off liquid roofing system that insulates, waterproofs, and protects commercial, industrial, and residential buildings. Proven since the 1960s and trusted across Southern California, SPF delivers unmatched energy efficiency, durability, and long-term value. Here’s how it works and why it outperforms.

How Spray Foam Roofing Is Installed: 5 Stages

01
Existing Roof Surface Is Cleaned And Prepared

No Tear-Off Required. The existing roof is cleared of dirt, debris, and contaminants using vacuuming or air pressure. Unlike traditional re-roofing, SPF requires no costly tear-off — the foam is applied directly over the existing roof surface, eliminating demolition waste and disruption.

02
Polyurethane Foam Is Sprayed In A Seamless Layer

Monolithic Application. A mixture of polyol/resin and isocyanate is spray-applied, expanding on contact into a solid, seamless foam layer approximately 1 to 1.5 inches thick. The foam self-adheres and self-flashes around every penetration, vent, and edge — eliminating seams where leaks typically start.

03
Protective Elastomeric Coating Is Applied

UV & Weather Shield. A 20-30 mil layer of elastomeric silicone or acrylic coating embedded with granules is applied over the foam. This coating provides essential UV protection, weather resistance, and fire safety compliance — and meets California's Title 24 cool roof energy standards.

04
System Is Inspected And Warranty Is Issued

Quality Assurance. The completed system is inspected for uniform thickness, proper coating coverage, and drainage performance. Manufacturer warranties cover both materials and coating, with extended warranties available through regular re-coating — a key advantage of SPF systems.

05
Re-Coat Every 10-20 Years To Renew Indefinitely

Renewable Lifespan When the protective coating thins after 10-20 years, a simple re-coat restores full UV protection and extends the warranty — without replacing the foam underneath. With proper maintenance and timely re-coating, an SPF roof can last indefinitely.
